Today I would like to introduce our first Happy Hour drink. Thanks to http://www.drinksmixer.com, and a bit of creativity, I have created the ultimate ladies drink. Are you tired of being treated like a second rate citizen? Not getting enough attention? Or maybe a little too much attention from those hard hats working on the building next door? Craving a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T from the men in your life? Well, this drink is for you. *healthy swaps- Light Cranberry Juice, Sugar Free Red Bull, and Diet Ginger Ale
As a step up from the usual cranberry-vodka, the BS Boyfriend is a sweet and tangy concoction that will heat up the party. When I was researching this drink, I was a little skeptical of the Red Bull. As a person who usually associates Red Bull with the taste of urine or something along those lines, I was slightly deterred but I decided to try it out anyway. Turns out that the Red Bull works perfectly with the sweet cranberry juice and the tart vodka. If you aren’t a fan of Red Bull, just add more ginger ale.
After tasting the drink, I thought it needed some added sweetness. I went to my local Food Emporium and looked for some sugar. In the baking aisle I found Demerara Sugar from Mauritius. It resembles “Sugar in the Raw” that you find at restaurants in the light brown packets. The package says that it is mainly used for coffee, dessert toppings, cereal and berries, but I figured that it would also work well with vodka. I poured some of this sugar into a bowl and then dipped the rim of my glass in it. After a few twirls, I pulled out a beautifully decorated glass, adding to a much sweeter cocktail!
The BS Boyfriend is a lip-smacking drink that will shake up your weekend. Enjoy it with all your single ladies, and I suppose with a few of the deserving men in your life…if any.
